P90X3 Review – The Warrior – Day 6

For your viewing and listening pleasure, here is Patty Smith singing The Warrior. I know you all wanted this.

You’re welcome. Now that song will be in your head all day and every time you do The Warrior on P90X3. Patty looks great by the way.

The Warrior is strength training and cardio mixed together. No weights and bands in this one, just your body and gravity. Similar to a “prison” workout. Good stretch starts it off, then as has become a trend in this series, the pace picks up very quickly. Moves are very challenging requiring great flexibility. Honestly, my flexibility just isn’t there yet to be able to perform some of these moves to spec.

I would also like to say that Downward Dog Crunches should be illegal. Maybe I can get a petition going with the White House? If you’ve already done them in The Warrior I would like to hear what you think. If you haven’t, get ready.

From a degree of difficulty standpoint I would rank The Warrior as the toughest so far. The coordination, technique, balance and strength required to flawlessly complete this workout is difficult. It is going to take some time. I feel like I will need a full 30-45 days to get everything in place to where I can be proficient in The Warrior. Don’t get me wrong, I’m busting it and getting a great workout from it now, just very difficult to get through it with proper technique and pace.

I would put Tony’s humor level at a 5 in The Warrior. Not too much funny stuff. I’m going to start ranking this because it entertains me. CVX is by far the best from a humor standpoint. Gru impressions, meowing uncontrollably. Its great.

I would really like to post short videos on here showing some of the moves from the DVD. For instance, show the move on the DVD and show how well or not I can do the move. I have sent an email to Beachbody asking for permission. I know copyright issues and distribution can be dicey and I would prefer not to get sued at this time.

Also I have lost 5 pounds so far on 6 days! Its the first time I have weighed since I started. I really wasn’t expecting to have lost anything. I have been feeling much better, energy level higher, but didn’t expect to see it on the scales yet. It was a welcomed surprise.
